Gout.
Gout is a form of arthritis. It usually begins with a slight warning, a
slight pain similar to a slight dislocation of a knuckle (usually
a big toe knuckle).
Those of us who have experienced Gout know that when
that slight pain begins, it is time to take preventative and even
corrective measures immediately. I'll get to that in a bit.
Gout is predominantly a male affliction, in men over
forty, and is often triggered by a sudden adverse dietary trend
accompanied with being immobile.
For example, a most common occurrence is a time of
great festive holidaying. During this time, men tend to eat very rich
(fatty) foods, drink too much, and tend to laze around after
over-eating.
Large amounts of animal fats including butter, fatty
gravies, bacon accompanied by alcohol and followed by 'resting' will
result in the build up of large amounts of uric acid in the blood which,
if not moving too quickly or quickly enough throughout the body will
result in the creation of crystals which deposit in joints such as the
big toe. This results in swelling up and render the victim in extreme
agony and almost totally immobile.
Been there a few times.
Another major contributor to gout attacks are
processed foods especially processed meats which are laced with
nitrates. Nitrates and gout have a certain cause and effect
relationship.
If you have to eat some processed foods like hot dogs,
watch how many and how often you eat them and be constantly vigilant
about small pains in your big toe areas. That twinge of pain is your
barometer of what is ahead.
Gout is extremely painful. You absolutely
cannot walk on a big toe swollen with gout. And, once you've had one or
two bouts, you are very likely to take preventative action to ensure
that you don't bring it on any time soon.
Gout pain is very memorable.
Gout is recurring. It is a safe bet that if you have
had one gout attack, you will get another one. In fact, gout is so
painful that after usually your second attack, you start stock piling
medications and almost never leave home without them.
So... what to do.
Learn to recognize the early pain warning signs and
obey what they are telling you. Believe me, you'll know what they feel
like.
Immediately stop eating whatever it is that is
bringing it on and start eating vegetables instead of processed foods
and animal fats.
Start drinking lots and lots of pure water.
Get mobile making sure to flex all the joints in your
body especially in your feet, toes, and fingers or any other joint which
is showing signs of a gout attack. Work your joints hard. If they sit
idle, the crystals will form and you will be in serious discomfort if
not all out pain and swelling.
Start taking preventative all natural
medications.
Now, while there are a lot of decent over the counter
and prescription medications you can use, they all have side effects
that range from extreme headaches to diarrhea. I don't like the side
effects especially when you get both side effects at the same time.
Then, you have gout, a migraine, and you're strapped to the pot. Pretty
picture.
Now, as I said earlier, once you have had one attack,
you are now almost sure to have another. And, once you have had a gout
attack you sure absolutely do not want another!
What I have found and recommend works best not just to
eliminate the impact of the attack you are experiencing right now but to
ensure best that your next one isn't any time soon and to avoid side
effects is a product called Puricil.
Having tried literally everything else (see what you
guys put me through for your health?!), I am very thankful I tripped
over this product. Try it. Keep it handy for a while. But, gout is gout.
And, men are men. So, it's always good to keep a spare bottle on hand.
